구글의 스토리지

스토리지 사용 대가로 구글에 돈을 내기 시작했다. 아래 그림에서 보듯이 메일은 무료 공간을 2.62G를 사용하고 있고, 사진을 올리는 피카사 스토리지가 1G를 넘어 모자리기 때문이다. 요금은 1년에 5$인데 아깝다는 생각이 전혀 들지 않는다.
네이버의 nDrive, KT의 ucloud, LG의 uBox를 비롯한 많은 클라우드 서비스 및 각종 포털의 사진 서비스를 나는 이용하지 않는다.
- 외부로의 링크를 허용하지 않는다.
- 사진을 온라인에 정리하려면 너무 시간 많이 든다.
디카, 전화기에서 만들어지는 수 많은 사진들 수작업으로 하나하나 분류하고, 온라인으로 정리하는데 피카사만한 도구를 본 적이 없으며, 업무용 메일을 비롯한 5개의 메일 계정을 구글로 모아 관리해도 메일 스토리지는 3G를 넘지 않는다. 구글이 메일 데이터를 압축해서 관리하고 있기 때문일 것이다.
구글에 익숙해 있다가 국내 포털 가끔 로그인해보면 너무 갑갑하다. YouTube의 동영상 업로드가 15분 제한이 있기 때문에 다음의 동영상 서비스를 가끔 이용하는 것을 빼면 국내 인터넷 서비스 이용 빈도는 점점 더 떨어는데, 왠지 씁쓸한 느낌이 든다.
